Do I really need it?

In an effort to become more environmentally aware we all tend to want to turn things around starting at home. When you look around your home what are you doing that could be converted to a more nergy efficient or green type of action? Lets start with your kitchen garbage, ok not always a fun thing but start by thinking about the things you throw away without thought each day. Food Scraps- they can become a source of orders so not why start a small compost for your garden or flower bed. Save an old milk jug or large plastic container to put the scraps in, making it easier to transport to your compost pile Glass, paper and aluminum can be recycled if your town does not have a recycling pick up you can usually find a recycler or organization that collects for recycling like the cub scouts. Cans and bottles can also be used in various ways for crafts and storage so think of creative ways to reuse them. Bottles can be filled with colored water to create decorative pieces. Paper can be shredded for packing material and rolled tightly to create fireplace and campfire starters. boxes can be shredded as well and be sure at the very least to break them down so they take up less room in the pail. Think twice before you throw things away- cant it be re-used, recycled or reshaped to created a better disposal? With a little thought and some good habit forming ideas we can make our trash less wasteful and be more productive while going green
